Broza’s first endeavor at an all-instrumental guitar album is produced by Grammy-award winner Javier Limón.
A longtime fan of the Spanish guitar, Broza has incorporated many styles of flamenco, jazz, classical into his performance repertoire. Over the years, fans and friends have repeatedly requested a guitar instrumental album. “After 43 years as a singer-songwriter, composing music without lyrics was a challenging task,” shares Broza. “I had to perfect my playing to become a guitarist by trade. It took a while – almost 3 years.”
The album was recorded at the Casa Limón Studios in Madrid, Spain, a “magical place” where some of the world’s greatest guitarists, including Paco de Lucia and Tomatito, recorded their albums.
Producer Javier Limón directed the undercurrents of nuevo flamenco to a confluence with Broza’s other musical influences. Says Limón: “David Broza is one of the few artists with whom I would embark on any adventure with my eyes closed. The result is the most beautiful and profound journey to the roots of the most popular and beloved instrument on the planet – the Spanish Guitar.”
I'll Never Ride a Horse Again
single
David Broza will release “I’ll Never Ride a Horse Again” on July 30, 2020, the third single from his upcoming album EN CASA LIMÓN.
“While recording the piece at the Casa Limón studio in Madrid, I realized I hadn’t named this piece. My inspiration for this composition was a cross between a jazzy Spanish guitar tune with the gypsy Django Reinhardt feel, and some Stephane Grappelli and Scott Joplin-style swing all mixed up. But it also had some more rugged essence to it, and someone in the studio said that it sounded like a western without horses. So I answered: “I’ll never ride a horse again”, which was just an honest reply. As I was answering the engineer, I realized that this will be the name of this tune!”
One Million Guitars
One Million Guitars is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Foundation on a mission to impact the lives of millions of children around the globe through the power of a musical instrument.
Having early access to music education can transform the future of a great learner and affect the trajectory of their entire life. Apart from the subjective notion that music lifts the soul, it has been empirically shown that learners with the benefit of a musical training excel in other academic and creative domains. Yet so many of our brightest minds, those that can inspire future generations to improve our world, do not have access to a music education.
This all starts and ends with a kid with a guitar. Given the opportunity to surface the best version of themselves, millions of like minded children around the world will unite in a global chorus of personal growth, potential, diversity and peace.
Join us on this quest to bring the empowerment of music education into the lives of millions of kids.

About the “Not Exactly Christmas Show”
David Broza was scheduled to perform in concert in New York on November 4,1995, a date sadly coinciding with the day Israel’s Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated in Tel Aviv. The show was canceled, but the theatre doors remained open for anyone who wanted to come inside. The evening turned into an all-night vigil, drawing mourners from around the NYC region who gathered together to talk, sing, read poetry and mourn. The concert was rescheduled for the only available date: December 24th, 1995, and it became the first “Not Exactly Christmas Show”. Over the years, the venue has changed from Town Hall to 92nd St Y to Symphony Space to the Streicker Center.
This year, the stage will be at the City Winery in New York, while several venues will host the show virtually across the country. Every year is a holiday reunion, as fans and friends come to the sold-out show. The “Not Exactly Christmas Show” features Broza’s repertoire of well-known and best-loved classics. With the addition of surprise guest musicians, you never know who will turn up and what will happen, demonstrating Broza's versatility across the musical spectrum.
David Broza concerts are exhilarating, energetic, moving and enhanced with vibrant storytelling. The evening will include Broza’s signature fusion of his Israeli hits, Spanish flamenco, Cuban rhythms, American folk, and rock and roll.
Broza’s Cuban band includes flute virtuoso Itai Kriss, master percussionist Manuel Carro, Cuban tres guitarist Yuniel Jimenez, and bassist Jorge Bringas. Special guests include Spyro Gyra co-founder Jay Beckenstein, Julio Fernandez, and the highly-acclaimed bassist Francisco Centeno. And, as with every “Not Exactly Christmas Show,” performed over the last 25 years, surprises await with additional unannounced guests.
